Samoan Wellness Initiative (SWI)

Samoa Wellness Initiative (SWI) is a community collaboration for Richmond Area Multi-Services (RAMS) Asian & Pacific Islander Mental Health Collaborative.

SWI was established in 2012 through collaboration of mental health providers, consumer advocates, community leaders, and interested community members committed to support the wellness of Samoans and Pacific Islanders in San Francisco.

The goal for SWI and the Asian Pacific Islander Mental Health Collaborative is to promote mental health, and reduce stigma of mental illness among Filipinos, Samoans, and South East Asians (Cambodian, Laotian, & Vietnamese) in San Francisco by implementing culturally linguistically congruent mental health promotion activities across the lifespan in community settings
